Assessment Centre - Updated October 26As of Monday, October 26, the Peterborough Assessment Centre will relocate back to Northcrest Arena. The assessment centre will operate indoors due to weather conditions. Residents must book an appointment online. The assessment centre is open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Back To School Re-opening Plan - Kawartha Pine Ridge DSB - Updated Aug. 24Staggered entry Starting Monday, September 14, and continuing until Friday, September 18, both elementary and secondary students will attend school on different days. (please check your child's school website for more information). Please note that schools will be closed between September 8 to September 12 for extra planning time. Secondary timetables All secondary schools in KPRDSB will follow a modified quadmester timetable, which means students will switch between two classes every other week. Students will follow this schedule every quadmester. Mask use As ordered by the Ministry of Education, all students in Grades 4-12 will be required to wear a face covering on school buses and inside the school. Kindergarten to grade 3 students will be encuraged to wear a face covering. Busing School buses will be kept at regular capacity, but will strict health and safety measures in place such as cleaning.

City Services - Updated Aug. 17August 10 - Parking Fees reinstated accross Peterborough: The City of Peterborough has reinstated parking fees at all metered parking lots and garages as of August 10. Parking at any municipal lot or garage costs $1.25 per hour. Parking is free on evenings/nights and on weekends and stat holidays. The two hour parking limit applies for on-street parking. Pay for parking using your smartphone by downloading the HotSpot Parking app for contactless payment options. Note: a $2 per month, or $20 per year membership fee applies when you sighn up for HotSpot. August 4 - City Hall reopens to the public: City Hall is reopening on August 4, 2020 to the public, with public health measures in place including pexiglass barriers at customer service desks, increased cleaning, manditory mask use, and hand sanitizer usage when entering and exiting the building. City Hall is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m and is located at 500 George Street North. Although City Hall is reopening, it is preferred residents continue to access City Hall services online at www.peterborough.ca.

Downtown Public Spaces - Updated October 22As of October 22, bollards that were installed on George Street, Water Street, Charlotte Street and Hunter Street have been removed for preparations for the winter.

Garbage and RecyclingGarbage Garbage Collection Garbage collection will operate as usual, but will health and safety precautions in place. Landfill The landfill will operate under the following health and safety measures: No cash. Only debit and credit are accepted Reciepts will not be issued Only a limited number of people are allowed on the platform The reduced hours of operation are: Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Household Hazardous Waste Depot - 400 Pido Road The Household Hazardous Waste Depot is under reduced hours from Wednesday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Individuals are reminded to remain in their vehile until directed by staff. Recycling Recycling collection Recycling collection will operate as usual, but with health and safety measures in place. Purchase of Blue Boxes The Materials Recycling Facility is not selling blue boxes at this time, however, individuals can still buy them at City Hall or the GreenUp Store at 378 Aylmer Street. The Materials Recycling Facility at 390 Pido Road is open 24/7 for drop-offs.

Peterborough Transit - Updated Sept. 2September 6 - Peterborough Transit further adjusts service Peterborough Transit will be adjusting service effective Sunday, September 6 to suupport physical distancing as ridership increases. ​ Weekday Service Local Routes: all local routes will remain at the same service frequency, except for the following routes: Route 5 Parkway: Route 5 buses will increase service to every 30 minutes from approximately 6 a.m.-6 p.m. on weekdays. Route 5 buses will remain at a 60-minute service frequency during weekday evenings (from approximately 6 p.m.-11:30 p.m.). Route 6 Sherbrooke Street: Route 6 buses will operate every 30 minutes all day (from approximately 6 a.m.-11:30 p.m.). Route 7 Lansdowne Street: Route 7 buses will operate every 30 minutes for the entire service day (6 a.m.-midnight) on weekdays. *Route 7B buses will be out of service as of Sept 6. Route 8 Monaghan Road: Route 8 buses will increase service to every 30 minutes from approximately 6 a.m.-6 p.m. on weekdays. Route 8 buses will remain at a 60-minute service frequency during weekday evenings (from approximately 6 p.m.-11:30 p.m.). Route 9 Parkhill Road: Route 9 buses will increase service to every 30 minutes from approximately 6 a.m.-6 p.m. on weekdays. Route 9 buses will remain at a 60-minute service frequency during weekday evenings (from approximately 6 p.m.-11:30 p.m.). Community Bus Routes: All Community Bus Routes will operate one extra trip on weekdays from approximately 5 p.m.-6 p.m. Weekend Service All Routes will continue to operate on a 60-minute service frequency, except for Routes 2, 6, and 7, which will operate on a 30-minute service frequency. Seasonal Routes Fleming Late Night and Trent Late Night service will operate 7 nights per week. These routes will be operated by Routes 5A and 6C. The other Trent and Fleming Express buses will remain suspended at this time. August 10 - Front-door boarding and fare collection resumes: Effective Monday, August 10, Peterborough Transit will resume front-door boarding and fare collection. Peterborough Transit stopped the use of fare payments in mid-March to better protect their drivers. Now that all buses are equipped with pexiglass barriers in the drivers area, fare payment can resume. Riders are asked to enter through the front door, and exit through the rear door, if possible, for one-way flow. August 1 - Face Coverings Required on Peterborough Transit: Effective, Saturday, August 1, at 12:01 a.m., all individuals entering a commercial establishment in the Peterborough Public Health region will be required to wear a face covering while inside the establishment. This is based on a directive issued by the PPH Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Rosana Salvaterra. Peterborough Transit riders will be required to wear a face covering. Face coverings are the responsibility of each individual. If you see someone who isn't wearing a face covering, please be kind. Under the directive, there are exceptions, and not all disabilities and medical conditions are visable. June 28 - Peterborough Transit Service Adjustments: Peterborough Transit routes and schedules will be adjusted effective Sunday, June 28. The adjustments include the addition of early morning (6a.m.-8a.m.) and late evening (8p.m.-11:30p.m.) service on most routes, increased service frequency on select routes, and a new 9-route transit network. Peterborough Public LibraryThe Peterborough Public Library will re-open to the public on Tuesday, August 25, 2020. Strict public health guidelines like physical distancing and sanitization of high-touch areas will be adhered to. Meeting rooms and gathering spaces will remain closed at this time.
